Barbara is our Senior Accountant and Special Projects Coordinator. Many of our new clients have engaged our firm to step in and reconstruct their accounting records as well as advise them with respect to streamlining their accounting processes. Barbara has a gift for getting new client accounting and tax issues resolved and on track. She also receives frequent requests to conduct on-site Quick Books training for business owners and their employees.

Barbara holds a BBA in marketing and a Bachelor of Accounting from New Mexico State University. She has been a key member of the Owen Lyon & Associates team since 1997. Prior to that she gained extensive experience in tax issues and financial statement presentation with a CPA firm in Pittsburgh, PA. Barbara spent her initial eight years in the business world as a commercial banker, responsible for a $16,000,000 portfolio.

We have a tremendous asset in Barbara as an experienced business professional and community leader. She is a volunteer with Reading & Radio Resource, a non-profit organization providing audio books and radio programming for the visually impaired. Barbara also performs “voice-overs” for various forms of advertising media and public service announcements. Barbara and her husband David reside in Flower Mound, TX where she is active in her church as a choir member and as a Stephen Minister. Son Jack is completing his Masters Degree in Public Administration at the University of North Texas-Denton. Daughter Kathleen is a senior at UNT, majoring in English. Both Jack and Kathleen will graduate in May 2011.
